How to build your team

Welcome to New Englands newest overnight relay!

The CAPE Relay: May 6th and 7th 2011.

Now that you've committed yourself to 200+ miles of running through New England, it's time to find people to help you cover that distance...Your team. Finding other teammates is not as hard as you may think. Start with some of your training friends, co-workers or neighbors and pick one of them to be a co-captain; he or she will help make this process much easier and much less stressful.

  • To start, you and your co-captain will each commit to filling one van each, both of you need to only fill 5 runners each instead of you finding 11.

  • Don't wait until you have your full team to register for the relay. The first step of doing an overnight relay is to committing to it and start training! After successfully registering and paying for the team, your team captain will receive an email with a private link to send out to teammates to sign their waivers and add themselves to the team roster. Captains will have up until 2 weeks before the event to secure their full team.

  • If for whatever reason you cannot seem to round up your last few runners or some teammates start dropping out, don't panic, you can always post on the 13Relay message board and the 13Relay team builder to find runners. Consequently, there are usually runners on the message board looking for teams to join.
